Supported file formats

This article goes through the different file formats that CollectionPro supports. We have divided the files into four main categories: Audio, Image, Office and Video:

Audio

Supported audio file formats:

  • AAC: Advanced Audio Coding, a commonly used audio compression format.
  • AIFF: Audio Interchange File Format, a format developed by the Apple company.
  • DTS: Digital Theater Systems, often used in movie theaters.
  • FLAC: Free Lossless Audio Codec, an open-source lossless audio compression format.
  • M4A: MPEG-4 Audio, commonly used in iTunes.
  • MP2: MPEG Audio Layer II, an older audio compression format.
  • MP3: MPEG Audio Layer III, the most common audio compression format.
  • OGA: Ogg Vorbis Audio, an open-source format.
  • OPUS: Opus Audio Codec, a powerful audio compression format.
  • RA: RealAudio, a format developed by RealNetworks.
  • WAV: Waveform Audio File Format, a lossless audio compression format.
  • WMA: Windows Media Audio, a format developed by Microsoft.

Image

Supported image file formats:

  • AI: Adobe Illustrator Artwork, vector graphics format.
  • ARW: Sony Raw Image, a raw image file for Sony cameras.
  • BMP: Bitmap Image File, an uncompressed image file format.
  • CR2: Canon Raw Image, a raw image file for Canon cameras.
  • CR3: Canon Raw Image Version 3, a newer raw image file for Canon cameras.
  • CRW: Canon Raw Image, a raw image file for Canon cameras.
  • DNG: Digital Negative, an open raw image file format.
  • EPS: Encapsulated PostScript, vector graphics format.
  • GIF: Graphics Interchange Format, a format for animations and images.
  • HEIC: High Efficiency Image Format, a format developed by the Apple company.
  • ICO: Icon Image, a format for Windows icons.
  • JFIF: JPEG File Interchange Format, the most common image file format.
  • JP2: JPEG 2000, an improved JPEG format.
  • JPEG: Joint Photographic Experts Group, the most common image file format.
  • JPG: Joint Photographic Experts Group, the most common image file format.
  • NEF: Nikon Electronic Format, a raw image file for Nikon cameras.
  • PNG: Portable Network Graphics, a lossless image file format.
  • PPM: Portable Pixmap, an uncompressed image file format.
  • PSD: Photoshop Document, Adobe Photoshop’s own format.
  • RAF: Fuji Raw Image, a raw image file for Fujifilm cameras.

Supported document file formats:

  • OTF: OpenType Font, font format.
  • CSV: Comma-Separated Values, a tabular text file.
  • DOC: Microsoft Word Document, an older Word file format.
  • DOCX: Microsoft Word Open XML Document, a newer Word file format.
  • EPUB: Electronic Publication, e-book format.
  • ODP: OpenDocument Presentation, an open presentation file format.
  • ODS: OpenDocument Spreadsheet, an open spreadsheet file format.
  • ODT: OpenDocument Text, an open text file format.
  • PPT: Microsoft PowerPoint Presentation, an older PowerPoint file format.
  • PPTX: Microsoft PowerPoint Open XML Presentation, a newer PowerPoint file format.

  • MJPEG: Motion JPEG, a video file format.
  • MKV: Matroska Video, an open video file format.
  • MOV: QuickTime Movie, a format developed by the Apple company.
